Roundtrees Sidings is a representation of part of the Tyne & Wear Metro line at Fawdon between 1982 and 1987. During this time Metro car services terminated at Bank Foot station and British Rail had running rights over the line for two daily trip workings; from Tyne Yard to serve the Rowntrees chocolate factory at Fawdon and the ICI depot at Callerton.

The layout portrays a simplified and compressed version of the exchange sidings at the Rowntrees Fawdon Factory.

Roundtrees has been built in EM Gauge and features kit built Metro cars from Dave Alexander Kits and various classes of locomotive representative of those seen at Fawdon in the period. Track is hand built from “Templot” templates and the stock has been modified and weathered to represent actual vehicles in use on the line at the time.”

The layout is being constructed by members of the DEMU society.
